ABSTRACT

The Müller-Lyer (M-L) figure is an illusory figure of size, overestimated in the fins-out case, underestimated in the fins-in case, and accurately estimated in the “H” figure (Müller-Lyer, 1889). Illusory figures have been used in studies aiming to understand the relationship between the visual perception and visually-guided action systems (e.g., Aglioti, DeSouza, & Goodale, 1995; Franz, Gegenfurtner, Bulthoff, & Fahle, 2000), because they offer different perceptual and physical experiences.
