ABSTRACT

Over the last 20 years, there has been increasing international interest in the social sciences literature on the subject of boundaries and in particular on shifting boundaries of home and work life. As noted in preceding chapters, this interest has been led by feminist writers on the concept of care, and increasingly in relation to work-life balance. The chapters in this book highlight the imprecise boundaries of work, home, and care life and provide evidence that blurring boundaries is a useful concept to be studied theoretically and empirically.
