ABSTRACT

The purpose of this chapter is to provide a select few illustrations of global or transnational think tanks that illuminate the various aspects and details that have been discussed in previous chapters. The selected organizations are the European Council on Foreign Relations, the International Crisis Group, the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, and the World Bank Institute. The European Council on Foreign Relations, which is primarily a regional think tank, was included in order to demonstrate the growing trend of blurring previously defined distinctions, or a hybridization, as think tanks go global. Therefore, the chapter has been divided into sections, with each section pertaining to one of the above organizations.
