ABSTRACT

Bill Clinton's election team used the phrase "it's the economy, stupid" as one of the cornerstones of his presidential campaign. While this phrase has a direct connection to one's personal life by impacting what can be purchased and what should be saved, we often forget the connection to our places of employment. Those in the for-profit sector are a little more attuned to this as many of their employers are discussed on the evening news. From a personal perspective one cannot help but make the connection between the price of oil on the world market, the price of gasoline at our local pumps, and the price of consumer goods in our stores and markets. This is but one example of the "global economy" impacting our daily lives.
