ABSTRACT

Both ball types essentially have the same spin rate at this point of 6400 RPM. During the last part of the force cycle, the spin rate of the wound ball decreases a lot less before leaving the block’s surface. Due to the lag in response time of the transducer compared to the time of this phenomenon, the tangential force curves were interpolated to go to zero at 442 microseconds for the wound ball and 436 microseconds for the two piece ball after passing through their maximum negative force. This peak negative force was 375 pounds for the two piece ball and 268 pounds for the wound ball.
