ABSTRACT
Scientific paradigms 1 are not easy to replace. They come to dominate our thinking, directing our discussions and research along specific tracks, and we become increasingly less aware of the axioms and preconceptions we employ. In the case of the "development" paradigm, I believe the negative consequences of its domination have reached an acute stage.
