Children and young people in hospitals: Doing youth work in medical settings

In England, one response to these issues has been a small number of locally run projects employing youth workers in hospitals. Although some positive outcomes have been claimed for this work (e.g. Burke 2002, Hilton et al. 2004), it remains small in scale and limited to a small number of hospitals (Redfearn 2003).
