ABSTRACT

This chapter draws together much of the content presented in this book, illustrating the theory in practice within Key Stage 2. It mirrors the preceding chapter, which provided a living example of the integrated approach to the curriculum in Key Stage 1, and leads on to a consideration of the whole-school focus. The chapter thus builds on the theoretical framework set out in Chapter 1 and demonstrates the use of the teaching skills outlined in other chapters, specifically with regard to how effective planning is essential to the success of the approach. A current example of work in progress in Key Stage 2 is set out here in order to provide a critical and analytical commentary of the approach in practice.
