ABSTRACT

Whose decision was it that Williams should travel in order to publicise the Pan-African Association? How was the trip funded? And who supported Agnes and baby Henry? Or if Agnes had returned to work, who looked after baby Henry? Sadly, there are no answers to those questions. Though not surprisingly, at Gray's Inn Williams had been obtaining such low marks in his termly examinations that he was ‘not to be admitted again until the Easter examination in 1901', the new Association took precedence and in February 1901Williams left for the Americas. 1
