ABSTRACT

One of the things that people remembered about him as a young man was that he seemed too easy-going about work. The other was his fastidiousness. He would always put a fresh towel, kimono and sash in his saddlebag when he went off on horseback to cut grass for someone. He would tie his horse up in the forest, change clothes and go off wandering for a while, but he would always come back in time to do the work expected of him. Nothing else about him stood out in people’s memories.
