ABSTRACT
The university is being reformed and in this process new values are emerging and finding acceptance in the academy. These changes continually challenge the way the university understands itself and the repeated cry of ‘new values for old’ could be the slogan that both legitimizes and tempts us to accept that our culture is in flux. We now expect change, progress and innovation but whenever a new value finds a place on campus, older ones may become marginalized.
