ABSTRACT

There are cases when the investigator's goal in analyses of time series data is to identify units that can be said to have experienced a turning point or to relate the timing of normative turning points to some other predictor or event Such an investigation might often be preliminary to identifying the cause of such changes In the initial analyses reported here, we employed a model developed and used in the econometric field to identify change in a time series model (Bai, 1994; Bai & Perron, 2003; Zeileis, Leisch, Hornik, & Kleiber, 2002). In distinction from more common use of this model to identify points in aggregate-based time series indicators, we applied this model to individual developmental data
