ABSTRACT

An essential feature of schizotypal personality disorder (StPD) is a pervasive pattern of social and interpersonal deficits. These individuals are acutely uncomfortable with others and have a limited capacity for close relationships. StPD also includes cognitive or perceptual distortions. These individuals often have a preoccupation with paranormal phenomena, special powers, and magical control. There may be ideas of reference involving incorrect interpretations of casual incidents (APA, 2000).
