The Invasion of Manchuria
MANCHURIA is the old name by which the three north-eastern provinces of Liaoning, Kirin and Heilungkiang are called. Its area is 365,000 square miles; in size it is about equal to Germany and France combined. Its agricultural and mineral resources, including coal, iron, gold, are about equal to those of Germany and France put together. It is called North China’s Granary, and strategically it is known as China’s Helmet.
