ABSTRACT
Speeches hold a very limited space in our society. Some speeches have bent or strengthened a nation’s will at a critical moment; some have catapulted unknown people into public prominence; some have decided elections, sent people to jail or freed them from it. For all that, speeches today are just one of the forms of persuasion that are brought to bear upon people, and not necessarily the most pervasive or the most persuasive.
