ABSTRACT
Becker sat at his laptop examining a file folder filled with documentsand images he had amassed on Indian removal, Jacksonian-era Indian policies, and Native American positions and reactions prior to and during the process. The images and documents spanned the period from the late eighteenth century through about 1840. It was time to make some decisions about what he would teach in the Indian removal unit.
