ABSTRACT
The League of Nations When the failure of the League of Nations is analysed, the deliberations in Geneva on the Sino-Japanese conflict of 1937 are often neglected, Indeed, it was not the first attempt made by the international community to solve a serious crisis threatening world peace. Yet, it was certainly an attempt most relevant to the outbreak of the Second World War, especially if 7 July 1937 is regarded as its starting date.
