ABSTRACT
ABOUT two-thirds of the raw materials used in the production of Japanese export goods come from foreign countries. Taking Japan’s foreign trade statistics as a basis we find that a little more than half of her total exports of finished products are manufactured wholly from foreign raw materials; a quarter are manufactured largely from foreign, and a quarter wholly from domestic raw materials.
