ABSTRACT

This chapter introduces the idea of the ‘reflective professional’ in PCE, building on what we have so far described as being ‘actively critical’ by starting with some reflections on reflection itself. We continue by explaining what we mean by a ‘reflective professional’, and how you can draw on your own experience to grow as a teacher, and as a person. The chapter concludes by promoting the sense of support and shared professionalism which can be gained from joining with others in ‘communities of practice’.
