There was a marked increase in the birth rate soon after the war’s end, and the peak in the population curve by age groups shows that young people in their twenties are now the largest number. Quite recently, the birth rate has shown an increase of 18.8 per million, but generally, the ratio of children under 14 has decreased since the war. At present, it should be noted that the ratio of people of productive age is high. On the other hand, with the very low death rate, the ratio of old people is predicted to increase rapidly in the near future.
