The Paramar̄thasar̄a of Abhinavagupta

When the Jiv̄anmuktiviveka invokes, in the fourteenth century, the authority of the Paramar̄thasar̄a, it is the first Paramar̄thasar̄a that its author has in mind, though the Paramar̄thasar̄a of Abhinavagupta contains the same verse, hardly modified: later tradition, it is true — Abhinavagupta included — accords to the first Paramar̄thasar̄a the status of sŕuti.
