ABSTRACT
I will be seeking to demonstrate that arguments that are thought through and elaborated in some depth, that follow logical rules of inference and deduction, and that make explicit the grounds for believing in them that the author considers valid; arguments that explicate what knowledge is being claimed and how it is claimed to be known—are of a ‘higher’ standard than those that do not display these features.
