ABSTRACT

This chapter describes our 5-year journey of program implementation and research with the Coca-Cola Company. Following an employment discrimination lawsuit brought by African American employees,1 the Coca-Cola Company entered into a settlement agreement that created our roles as joint experts assisting an external task force to review and revise virtually all human resource (HR) processes within the company. The agreement was originally established for 4 years but at the request of the company at the end of the fourth year, the agreement was extended to 5 years to further achieve the goals.
