ABSTRACT
For the purposes of spatial planning, any development or change capable
of affecting the significance of a heritage asset or people’s experience of it
can be considered as falling within its setting. Where the significance and
appreciation of an asset have been compromised by inappropriate changes
within its setting in the past it may be possible to enhance the setting by
reversing those changes.
