ABSTRACT
You will hear the words aims, objectives and ILOs frequently in your ITE course and beyond. These terms are different statements of intent and serve a number of purposes:
they identify what you intend the pupils will achieve; they guide how you will teach, informing your scheme/unit/lesson planning; they provide a benchmark against which to assess pupil learning, thus informing
you whether your planning and teaching achieved the desired ILOs.
