ABSTRACT
In this chapter, we explore situations in which students’ and teachers’ religious values and beliefs contradict the practices of the school culture, school discipline, and/or the curriculum being taught in the classroom. This chapter raises ethical concerns related to individual beliefs juxtaposed against traditional school policies and practices. These dilemmas ask educational leaders to consider the best interests of each student as related to the practice of the profession.
