ABSTRACT

With this framework, technological design looks very similar to processes of scientic inquiry. However, it is important to note that scientic inquiry is conducted to produce evidence-based explanations, whereas technological design focuses on creating a solution. Another important point is that the NSES suggest that the number of stages or which stages to be included in a design must be determined based on the identied problem. For instance, some classroom activities may involve only evaluating an existing solution or product, rather than designing one.
