RAILROAD SIDETRACK AGREEMENT
Often businesses will request that the railroad build a sidetrack on the property of the business. This is done so that the business can ship manufactured goods directly from the plant. The railroad sidetrack agreement holds the railroad harmless for certain types of liability that may arise from the use of the sidetrack. A sidetrack agreement is an insured contract in the standard contractual liability policy.
