ABSTRACT
Truckers who operate outside of a local radius (normally over 50 to 100 miles) have their premium determined by zone. The country is divided into 50 different zones with different rates for each zone. Usually, the premium is equal to the highest priced zone the carrier regularly operates in. Zone rating does not apply to light trucks or trailers designed for use with light trucks. (See Gross Combined Weight; Gross Vehicle Weight).
