ABSTRACT
The abandonment clause is in most property insurance policies and prohibits the insured from abandoning damaged property to the insurance company. After a property loss has occurred, it is the responsibility of the insured to repair or dispose of the damaged property unless the insurance company elects to dispose of the property.
