ABSTRACT
The importance and centrality of powers in various domains of philosophical inquiry has been argued for by many.1 Powers are properties like fragility and electric charge, whose possession disposes their bearer in a certain way. The instantiation of fragility in the glass disposes the glass to break if struck in the appropriate circumstances. The striking is the stimulus, and the breaking the manifestation of fragility.
