ABSTRACT
As with cranial metrics, definitions of standard measurements for the post-cranial skeleton are offered in most laboratory manuals of human osteology (e.g. Brothwell 1981; Bass 1987; Herrman et al. 1990; Buikstra and Ubelaker 1994). Although measurement definitions may differ somewhat between authors, most are based on those in Rudolf Martin’s classic text (Martin 1928).
