ABSTRACT
If there is one common message from the preceding chapters, it seems to be that students
of international political economy whether academic beginners or hoary-headed old
hands need to broaden their outlook. They have been urged to become economic
historians, to tackle technology, to fathom the intricacies of international finance, to grasp the elements of commercial exchange, to go back to the basics of demography.
