ABSTRACT
When visiting the Shamu show at Sea World, one cannot help but think about the powerful connection between this killer whale and humans. Certainly, it would be too pretentious to imply that this kind of humananimal relationship is a demonstration of intimacy. However, even in these interactions one can identify key elements of intimacy such as trust, passion, loyalty, closeness, respect, love, and social commitment.
