ABSTRACT

Having mapped the fi eld of Feminist Studies as a postdisciplinary discipline, aiming at the ‘undoing’ (Butler 2004) of fi xed, essentialized and stereotyped understandings of gender/sex, I shall now proceed to the question of theorizing the processes of political resignifi cation. In the following four chapters, I shall look at some of the many theories that feminists have developed in order to comprehend and activate the processes of undoing and thawing congealed and conservative understandings of intersectional gender/sex.
