ABSTRACT

Rudolf Laban’s work continues to provide a rich resource for the practice of Dance Movement Therapy, as well as for therapeutic dance which generally takes place outside of clinical settings. Within these realms, Laban’s movement terms are used to describe an individual’s movement repertoire – whether client or therapist – in order to generate palettes of creative movement exploration and development, as well as for specifically defining and measuring progress in treatment goals, and building plans of intervention.
