ABSTRACT

In the summer of 1995 a Little League baseball game was beingplayed in Alma Arkansas. A 6-year-old child, Morgan Nick, came to the game with her mother. Morgan was playing with friends. They were all catching lightening bugs. Morgan walked up to her mother’s car and began to empty sand from her shoes. And then she was gone. It has now been more than 10 years. In the years that have passed, Morgan’s mother formed the Morgan Nick Foundation to help publicize her daughter’s case and to raise awareness about the problem of missing and abducted children. The FBI has received thousands of leads. A reward of $60,000 has been offered for information in the case. Forensic artists have been called in to produce a composite sketch of the suspect. Morgan’s picture has been age progressed to provide an estimate of her current appearance. These pictures have been widely circulated. As of the writing of this chapter, Morgan has still not been found (Morgan Nick Foundation, 2009).
