ABSTRACT
Chapter 5 discussed the outbound trends of Chinese students and scientists. Chapter 6 discussed, among other things, the relationship between the size of overseas Chinese scientifi c communities and the strength of collaborative ties between China and its main partner-countries. This chapter will focus on a third element of scientifi c mobility, namely the return of overseas Chinese scientists to China.
