ABSTRACT
Its fi ndings shed light on issues including the nature of the EU as an actor in international relations, the prospects for democratisation in an Arab-Mediterranean state in the post-9/11 world, the democratisation strategy of the EU, the nature of bilateral relations between the EU and one of its Mediterranean partner states, the relationship between democracy and security, and on the state of Tunisian politics more generally.
