ABSTRACT

We believe that there is always room, in any history book or book about teaching history, for a bit of humor alongside some good detective work. Food history is an area that oers teachers a great deal of room for humor, hands-on research, and some serious sleuthing all combined into one. Along the way, you can conduct a good deal of work on the origins of our most popular foods, oen with surprising results! And you can plan for a bit of eating with your students which, in the case of pizza, will undoubtedly render you quite popular.
