ABSTRACT
SCORES of experiments have been performed pursuing a satisfactory explanation of the phenomenon known as the polarity, or choice, shift. The quantity of polarity shift experiments is all the more remarkable given the consistency of the research. Put simply, there is little debate concerning certain crucial empirical generalizations. Achieving an understanding of the present theoretical stasis requires understanding the method by which polarity shift data are generated.
