Contributions of, and divergences between, clinical work and research tools relating to trauma and disorganization

This chapter will consider how research informs clinical practice and how clinical practice validates and informs research in the field of relational trauma in infancy. The importance of a close working relationship between these branches will be emphasized, especially since research and practice often use different lenses to see similar phenomena, such as intergenerational transmission, mental representation, and disorganized attachment.
