ABSTRACT

Quality is not achieved simply by trying a bit harder. You can be confident that you are achieving – and continuing to achieve – highquality results only by setting up a system that will enable you to monitor them. This involves identifying what quality means for your area of work and then setting standards related to the outcomes required. Without clear and achievable quality standards, staff cannot have sufficient clarity about what is required, and have no way of knowing whether they have achieved what is required of them.
