ABSTRACT
In Chapter 6 we discussed the problem of climate change and discovered, among other things, that the problem is a truly global one. In this chapter we are going to discuss a topic of the same magnitude: the future of the oceans. In the second part of this chapter we will look at the Baltic Sea as a case study. In the closing part of the chapter we will discuss some general principles for a sustainable management or governance of the seas.
