ABSTRACT
There appear to be few opportunities for architects, whether they are in training or in practice, to interact with the world of young children. When the demands of a design project result in limited time to meet with clients and users, it is understandable that engagement with young children is unusual. Establishing a common language between professionals and users can take time. The youngest or most vulnerable members of a community may present the greatest challenges in terms of establishing communication and gaining perspectives.
