Perception is the process by which all people form their views of the world. Perception is essential because of the amount of information, signals and cues with which the senses are constantly assailed. The total amount of information is not capable of assimilation because it is constantly changing and developing and because of the constant nature of human activity. A process of some sort is therefore clearly necessary by which this is first limited and then transformed into something that is useful and usable.
