ABSTRACT

Researchers have found that unmotivated students do not perform as well on standardized tests. From a brief review of early and recent research on achievement, performance, and motivation, the people advance some thinking. Lastly, Chan, Schmitt, DeShon, Clause, and Delbridge explored, among other constructs, test motivation and test performance in college freshmen. It is essential that the people understand why standardized testing is important and how it can affect the people academic future. The SAT Reasoning Test is a widely used admissions test among colleges and universities. SAT Subject Tests are designed to measure their knowledge and skills in particular subject areas as well as the people ability to apply that knowledge. The ACT assesses high school students’ general educational development and their ability to complete college-level work. Through multiple-choice questions, the ACT measures competence in four areas: English, mathematics, reading, and science.
