ABSTRACT
I shall say that things and processes have spatio-temporalities. Space-time itself has a fivefold character:
(a) as a referential grid for identifying the presence of existents or non-existents (absences, de-onts), employing appropriate demonstrative and recognitive criteria;
(b) as a measure or matrix for locating, dating and individuating entities, events, potentials, fields, etc.;
(c) as a set of prima facie mutual exclusion relations, turning on difference in extent (space) or change in endurance (time);
(β) as relata of a new (emergent) system of material things, a topic I develop in the next section; and
(e) as a (currently macroscopically generally entropic) process or rhythmic.
