ABSTRACT
The decade following the end of the Cold War witnessed a remarkable increase in regional projects. New forms of often multi-layered interregional relations have appeared as a corollary of ‘new regionalism’. Interregionalism refers on the one hand to the political/economic relationship between two regional more or less institutionalized cooperation schemes, and on the other hand to the process of building interactions and links between two separate regions.
