ABSTRACT
However it happened, you are now holding this book. You may have thumbed through the pages, looked over the table of contents, read a sentence here and there, or been completely absorbed by one section. Maybe you stopped by your college bookstore on your way to your first class. Or, perhaps you have just come from your first class meeting and just picked up this book. It could be you are not in a counseling program at all but are curious about counselors. However you came to this page, chances are you are much like my students: Something in this book energizes you. You may feel a stir of excitement.
